A inspiração vem da vivência. Todo mundo carrega um peso, às vezes invisível, às vezes esmagador. A ideia foi transformar essa sensação constante de desamparo, de luta contra um ciclo que parece sempre te arrastar pra baixo, em som. Não é algo construído de fora pra dentro — é o reflexo cru de quem vive à beira, lidando com as fraturas da existência, com a falência emocional, mental e social que nos rodeia. “Fadado a Cambalear” é, antes de tudo, um grito de quem não aguenta mais, mas segue — mesmo que tropeçando.

Musicalmente, o trabalho é um choque de peso e atmosfera, com influências de doom, black e deathcore. Como vocês construíram essa sonoridade e o que ela representa para a identidade da RESTO? A sonoridade da RESTO nasceu da urgência de comunicar o peso que não é só físico, mas emocional. A mistura não foi algo pensado como fórmula, ela aconteceu naturalmente. As atmosferas sufocantes do doom, a violência seca do deathcore e o desespero do black metal refletem exatamente os sentimentos que queremos expressar. Não fazia sentido escolher entre peso, caos ou melancolia — precisava ser tudo isso ao mesmo tempo, porque é assim que a vida bate na gente. Essa é a nossa identidade: densa, arrastada, violenta e honesta.

A faixa “Morto Vivo” teve uma recepção forte como single. Como ela se conecta com o restante do EP e por que foi escolhida como a primeira amostra do projeto?

“Morto Vivo” sintetiza muito do que é o EP — tanto na sonoridade quanto na temática. Ela fala desse estado de funcionar no automático, existindo sem viver, sem perspectiva, sem alívio. A escolha como single foi quase inevitável, porque ela é direta, agressiva e carrega aquele desconforto que queríamos que as pessoas sentissem logo de cara. É como uma porta de entrada pro vazio que é o restante do trabalho.

A carga emocional do EP é intensa. Existe alguma faixa que tenha um significado mais pessoal para vocês, ou alguma que represente de forma mais crua a proposta do disco?

Todas são extremamente pessoais, mas talvez “Morto Vivo”, a faixa-título, seja a que mais escancara tudo. Ela foi a última a ser composta e carrega uma honestidade dolorosa. É quase uma carta de rendição, mas também de enfrentamento. Não é só sobre cair. É a síntese da proposta — o desconforto de existir.

With four intense tracks, the EP combines influences of doom metal, black metal and deathcore, resulting in a heavy, dense and atmospheric sound. The debut EP, “Fadado a Cambalear”, delves into themes such as fragility, decline and hopelessness. Where did the inspiration to address these dark aspects of the human condition come from? Inspiration comes from experience. Everyone carries a weight, sometimes invisible, sometimes overwhelming. The idea was to transform this constant feeling of helplessness, of fighting against a cycle that always seems to drag you down, into music. It is not something built from the outside in — it is the raw reflection of those who live on the edge, dealing with the fractures of existence, with the emotional, mental and social bankruptcy that surrounds us. “Fadado a Cambalear” is, above all, a cry from those who can't take it anymore, but keep going — even if stumbling.

Musically, the work is a clash of heaviness and atmosphere, with influences from doom, black and deathcore. How did you create this sound and what does it represent for RESTO's identity? RESTO's sound was born from the urgency to communicate heaviness that is not only physical, but emotional. The mix was not something thought out as a formula; it happened naturally. The suffocating atmospheres of doom, the dry violence of deathcore and the despair of black metal reflect exactly the feelings we want to express. It didn't make sense to choose between heaviness, chaos or melancholy — it had to be all of these at the same time, because that's how life hits us. That's our identity: dense, drawn-out, violent and honest.

The track “Morto Vivo” was well received as a single. How does it connect with the rest of the EP and why was it chosen as the first sample of the project?

“Morto Vivo” summarizes much of what the EP is about — both in terms of sound and theme. It talks about this state of functioning on autopilot, existing without living, without perspective, without relief. Choosing it as a single was almost inevitable, because it is direct, aggressive and carries that discomfort that we wanted people to feel right away. It is like a gateway to the emptiness that is the rest of the work.

The EP's emotional content is intense. Is there a track that has a more personal meaning for you, or one that more crudely represents the album's purpose?

They are all extremely personal, but perhaps “Morto Vivo,” the title track, is the one that reveals everything the most. It was the last one to be composed and carries a painful honesty. It's almost a letter of surrender, but also of confrontation. It's not just about falling. It's the synthesis of the purpose — the discomfort of existing.
